Acquisitions
I thought about ordering some Felici self striping sock yarn from KnitPicks but I didn’t.
Hand Knitting
I finished the socks that were started as the first pattern on the free Knit-Along 2016: Socks with Lucy Neatby on craftsy.com but I used the stitch pattern from Hermione’s Everyday Sock for the leg to save some time. The yarn is called Sakkie.
I also have been making cotton dishcloths using the Boxy Dishcloth pattern.
Machine Knitting
We had a knit along for the Gone for the Weekend Tee from knititnow.com.
I used Garment Designer software for sleeveless tops but my gauge is causing me trouble.
I have another machine knit top that actually did work out. It is the Linen Top pattern by Kat Coyle.
Resources
craftsy.com will launch a new class by Sally Melville soon called Stash Busting Secrets for Sweater Knitting and More. Contact Sally via Ravelry at Sallyknits for a half price coupon. The class will be an updated Craftsy version of her Styles book which was all about using up your yarn stash.
The former News and Views magazine/newsletter is now Country Knitting of Maine.
I mentioned June Hemmons Hiatt who wrote The Principles of Knitting. She is teaching a class about gauge at Vogue Knitting Live in November in Minneapolis.
Vegemetarianism
I made delicious crab fakes using a recipe from a book called The Meatlover’s Meatless Cookbook - Vegetarian Recipes Carnivores Will Devour.
I’m going to cook millet using a recipe from The Complete Vegetarian Cookbook from America’s Test Kitchen. Millet - it’s not just birdseed!
